Great places to eat in Buxton
Over the years we have had many guests ask us for advice on the best places to eat whilst staying in the beautiful spa town of Buxton, so we have put together this handy guide which shares our favourite restaurants and cafes.

Bailey’s is a simply scrumptious place to visit for great meals – be it for lunch or for an evening meal. It is obvious that this family-run restaurant takes great pride in the quality of their food and drink and their front of house staff are both knowledgeable and attentive, without being intrusive upon their diners. Situated in the heart of Buxton, a mere 2-minute walk away from the famous Buxton Opera House make this a fantastic venue to visit for great food and accompanying drinks with your meal.
A small family-run French restaurant serving great quality traditional, authentic French dishes. A licenced restaurant, there is a great selection of drinks to compliment your meal.
Throughout the spring and summer season Bar Brasserie also have a large terrace area where you can enjoy eating al fresco or simply sit, sipping your favourite glass of wine perhaps, enjoying the ambience, surrounded by the glorious Buxton crescent, watching the world go by. It’s certainly one of our favourite hobbies!
An authentic and original Greek restaurant, its decor is reminiscent of the Greek traditional taverna with an emphasis on a friendly atmosphere. Ithaca’s serves an array of classic Greek and Mediterranean dishes, influenced from the Ionian Islands, using freshly prepared ingredients to enhance those authentic Greek flavours.

An authentic traditional Thai restaurant with an extensive lunch and an a la carte menu. Prepared from the very best ingredients including herbs, spices and exotic vegetables sent directly from growers in Thailand. Its interior is decorated with traditional carvings and sculpture, making it a visual feast too
Serving authentic Italian dishes, freshly prepared on the premises using only the best quality, locally sourced ingredients with an extensive menu to select from. St Moritz is open every day from 12 noon till late. Being situated a mere two-minute walk away from the famous Buxton Opera House makes this a great choice for sampling their pre and post show menu. Alternatively, enjoy a relaxing and leisurely meal with friends or family.
Santiago’s offer a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, promoting social dining with a menu showcasing produce directly from Spain.
